Seasons is a relatively new infinite runner game for our Windows Phones. You play the role of Ezra, a warrior who is in the middle of a heated battle with his brother Aton. You have to help Ezra race across the land, navigating him past various obstacles along the way.
Game play is not unlike other running games and graphics are well done. The storyline does get lost after the title scenes but is replaced by a fast paced, challenging game. You jump, slide and punch your way through obstacles to see how far you can run.
Add magic attacks, power-ups, multi-player support and the ability to fly and Seasons comes across as an attractive Windows Phone game, well worth a try.

The main menu for Seasons has options to play the game, purchase upgrades for your character, view your gaming achievements and access the game’s options. Gaming options allow you to set your screen name, mute the sounds and turn on the multiplayer mode. With multiplayer mode turned on your Windows Phone will be detectable for the local, multiplayer game.
When you first hop into the game, Seasons will walk you through a brief tutorial covering gaming controls. Your player will be constantly running and you control his avoidance maneuvers by a series of swipes; swipe up to jump, swipe down to slide and slide forward to punch.

As you avoid obstacles and progress through the game, you can collect leaves that can be used to purchase upgrades and magical items to help your character survive longer on his run. Items such as a magnet that will draw all the leaves to your position or the snatcher that is used in the multi-player game to rob your opponent of leaves.
The game screen has your distance and leaf count displayed in the upper right corner. Any magical items in your inventory will be displayed along the right side and bottom of the screen. A fly button rests in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Once you have traveled a set distance, your character will get the ability to fly. The flight mode will transition your character between the game’s different environments. As you soar through the clouds you’ll need to dodge boulders that are mysteriously flying the friendly skies as well. You control your flight elevation through swipes as well and after a short distance of flight, Ezra will gently glide back to the ground with a new environment to race across.

The multi-player mode is done over local Wi-Fi and has you racing against your opponent to see how far you can survive. Your player is running in the foreground while your opponent can be seen in the background running the course.

You also have a combat aspect to the multi-player mode in that you can use your magic to foul up your opponent. Your available magical items will be displayed along the bottom of the screen. The multi-player mode tests your multi-tasking skills in that you have to avoid all the obstacles as well as handle the combat aspects of the game.
The downside to the multi-player game is that game play doesnt give you enough time to search, host and settle into the two player game before tossing obstacles your way. It would be nice if once both players are connected, a countdown would sound and then you start game play.
Seasons is a decent infinity runner game and while graphics are nice, the game screen is zoomed in fairly close. This minimizes your reaction time to obstacles making it rather difficult to keep up with the pace of the game. This isn’t a major issue when you first start your run when the pace is more gingerly. However, the longer your run, the quicker the game pace becomes and reaction time gets tight. If you look away for just an instance you may find Ezra running head on into a boulder. I wouldn’t mind seeing the game view zoomed out just a little bit to give players a fighting chance.
Graphics are nice, game play challenging and the multi-player modes lets Seasons stand out a little from the other infinite runner games in the Store. There is a free trial version available with the full version of Seasons running $.99. You can find Seasons here in the Windows Phone Store. It’s available for both Windows Phone 8 and 7.x devices.
Update: While the game is listed and will load on Windows Phone 7.x devices, the game does not run properly. As noted by the developer in the comments below, an update to enable the Windows Phone 7.x version of the game is in the works and should be available next week.

How to Root Galaxy Note 3 Canadian SM N900W8 on Android 4 3 Jelly Bean Firmware

The Canadian version of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with model number SM-N900W8 has already received the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with firmware build number N900W8VLUBMJ4. The new official firmware is currently available as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update as well as through Samsung KIES.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Canadian) SM-N900W8 users who have already installed their devices with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, may root their devices using the tutorial below.

This tutorial uses CF-Auto-Root file released by Elite Recognized XDA-Developers, Chainfire. The CF-Auto-Root file allowing Galaxy Note 3 users to root their devices easily without depending on the firmware. It completely supports Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and future firmware as well. Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 percent.
5. The CF-Auto-Root file works only on the Canadian version of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900W8). Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy Note 3 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.

Steps to Root Galaxy Note 3 (Canadian) SM-N900W8 Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Firmware
Step 1: Extract CF-Auto-Root and Odin 3.07 files using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool.
Step 2: Switch off the Galaxy Note 3. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 3: Launch Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 4: Connect the Galaxy Note 3 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn to light blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.

Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.

Step 5: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the CF-Auto-Root-hltecan-hlteub-smn900w8.tar.md5 file.
Step 6: Verify that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option is NOT selected.
Step 7: Double-check and click Start button in Odin. The installation process will now begin.
Step 8: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from the computer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Canadian) SM-N900W8 running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.

Step 1: Connect the Galaxy S2 Plus to the computer using USB cable.
Step 2: Copy the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip file to internal SD card of your phone.
Step 3: Once the file transfer process is completed, switch off the phone and disconnect it from computer.
Step 4: Boot the device into CWM Recovery by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together.
Step 5: Select install zip from sdcard and then choose zip from sdcard. Now, navigate to the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip file that you copied earlier and confirm the installation.

Step 6: Once installation process is completed, return to main recovery menu and select Reboot System Now.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105P running on Android 4.2.2 XXUBMG8 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.

Pre-requisites
1) Install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Note on the computer.
2) Enable USB Debugging Mode. [Press Menu >> Settings >> Applications. From there navigate and tap on Development option and ensure the USB Debugging is turned on.]
3) Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4) The Galaxy Note should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.  
5) Ensure the battery of the tablet is charged more than 80 per cent.
6) The Android 4.1.2 DXLSE Jelly Bean firmware is compatible only with Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and installing this on any incorrect variant will brick the device. Therefore, verify the model number of the Galaxy Note by navigating to Settings >> About Phone. 

Steps to Install Android 4.1.2 DXLSE Jelly Bean on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000
Step 1: Download Android 4.1.2 DXLSE Jelly Bean (Mirror Link) firmware for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 to the computer. Then extract the downloaded zip to get a file with .tar or .tar.md5 extension along with few other files 
Step 2: Download Odin 3.07 which will help to install the Jelly Bean firmware
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy Note. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button until the device turns on. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode
Step 4: Launch Odin on the computer
Step 5: Connect the Galaxy Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn yellow with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added. If Odin fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver.
Step 6: Select the files, which are extracted from the N7000DXLSE Jelly Bean folder, to install on the phone

• Click on PDA and select the file with .tar or .tar.md5 extension
• Click on Phone and select file with MODEM in its name
• Click on CSC and select file with CSC in its name
• Click on PIT and select the .pit file

Note: Ignore the steps b, c and d in case such files are not found.
Step 7: In Odin, verify the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. Also verify that the Re-Partition option is unchecked 
Step 8: Double check everything and click the Start button in Odin to begin the firmware flashing. Upon the completion of the installation process, a message saying PASS will appear 
Step 9: The phone will restart automatically. Once the home screen appears, safely unplug the USB cable from the phone to disconnect it from the computer

Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 should be now updated with official Android 4.1.2 DXLSE Jelly Bean. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.
